The honest take on Daraz
The commission number above looks dramatic, but for most Pakistani sellers the right answer isn't "leave Daraz" — it's "use both". Daraz brings new-customer discovery (its audience advantage is real); your own WoBooks site keeps 100% of every repeat order at zero commission. Most sellers shift 30–60% of repeat orders to direct within 6–12 months while keeping the marketplace for fresh acquisition.

What does this calculator compare?
It estimates your annual all-in platform cost on three options: WoBooks Commerce (subscription only, 0% transaction fee), Shopify Basic (subscription + ~2% non-Shopify-Payments transaction fee in Pakistan since Shopify Payments isn't available locally), and Daraz (no subscription, 5–25% commission per sale depending on category). The math is your monthly sales × annualized — verify your own contract rates. The calculator does not include payment-gateway fees (JazzCash, Easypaisa, Safepay) because these apply roughly equally on every platform and would cancel out.
Why is Shopify Payments not available in Pakistan?
Shopify Payments is Shopify's bundled payment processor and is only available in selected countries (US, UK, Canada, Australia, EU, etc.). Pakistan is not on Shopify's supported-country list as of 2026, so Pakistani Shopify merchants pay Shopify's non-Shopify-Payments transaction fee (typically 2% on Basic) on top of whatever their payment processor (Safepay, PayFast, JazzCash gateway) charges them. The calculator defaults to 2% for Pakistani sellers — verify your specific Shopify contract.
What about Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress + WooCommerce?
We focus this calculator on the three most-common comparisons Pakistani sellers run. Wix Business Basic ($28/mo) and Squarespace Commerce ($28/mo) cost similarly to Shopify with weaker Pakistani payment-gateway support — see /compare/wix and /compare/squarespace for side-by-sides. WordPress + WooCommerce is technically free but adds hosting (~PKR 3,000–15,000/yr), themes, plugins, and developer time — typically PKR 30,000–80,000 in year one. See /compare/wordpress for the realistic all-in.
Should I leave Daraz?
For most Pakistani sellers — no, not entirely. The right model is usually "use both" — Daraz for new-customer discovery (where its audience advantage matters), and your own WoBooks site for repeat customers at 0% commission. Most sellers move 30–60% of repeat orders to direct within 6–12 months. The smart move is to use Daraz to acquire customers, then convert them to your WoBooks store with a printed insert in their package or a follow-up WhatsApp. See /compare/daraz for the full take.
How accurate are the Shopify and Daraz numbers?
Shopify Basic at $29/mo is Shopify's public list price as of 2026; the 2% transaction fee is the non-Shopify-Payments rate published in Shopify's pricing pages for unsupported countries. Daraz commission varies significantly by category and seller tier — the 15% default is a mid-range estimate; verify your specific rate in Daraz Seller Center. Both platforms can change their pricing at any time; this tool is updated periodically but always verify against the platform's current published rates.
Does the calculator include payment gateway fees?
No — and intentionally. JazzCash, Easypaisa, and Safepay all charge standard merchant fees (typically 1–2.5% depending on method) and these fees apply roughly equally on WoBooks, Shopify, and Daraz. Including them on every column would just add the same number to each total without changing the relative comparison. The calculator focuses on the cost differences that are unique to each platform — subscription, transaction fee, commission.
Why is the WoBooks recommendation different at different sales volumes?
WoBooks Commerce has four tiers with different feature and capacity caps: Starter is free (5 products / 15 orders), Growth handles ~100 orders/month with full features, Pro handles ~500 orders/month with multi-user and reports, Scale handles 2,000+ orders/month with priority AI and FBR-ready invoicing. The calculator recommends the tier that fits your monthly sales volume — see /pricing for the full breakdown.
What does WoBooks include that Shopify and Daraz don't?
WoBooks Commerce includes the website, ecommerce, accounting, POS, AI Companion (owner-side AI), and Brain (customer-side AI on WhatsApp) in one subscription. Shopify requires separate apps for accounting (QuickBooks ~$30/mo), POS (Shopify POS Pro ~$89/mo), and AI customer service (Intercom Fin starts at ~$40/mo + per-resolution fees). Daraz is a marketplace listing — you don't get a website, accounting, POS, or AI at all. See Companion and Brain for the AI breakdown.
