Roofs are the cheapest insurance you can buy — done right.

Peakroof started in 2007 after master mason Karim Bashir watched a neighbour pay PKR 4 lakh three times in five years for a "waterproofing" that lasted one monsoon. He decided someone in Karachi had to do it the way the spec sheet actually says — primer first, two coats minimum, mesh in the corners.

Today his sons Hamza and Adeel run the field crews. We do roughly 140 jobs a year, mostly referrals. Every roof we touch gets a 10-year workmanship guarantee on the invoice — not a verbal promise.

“A house tells you how it wants to be plumbed. The trick is having quiet enough hands to listen.” — A note pinned above the studio bench
Studio Notes

Notes from the bench.

  1. 01

    The first stall

The studio opens with one bench and a short list of jobs.

  2. 02

    Older homes

Pre-war houses that need quiet hands — the jobs we love come knocking.

  3. 03

    The workshop

Same bench, more daylight, the same quiet rituals.

  4. Today

    Still on the bench

A small crew. The same survey ritual every morning.

Field reports

A thousand roofs later, one quiet rule.

A small selection of letters and notes returned to the studio this past year.

Three "waterproofing" companies before Peakroof. Every monsoon a new patch, a new bill. Hamza found the actual leak (a hairline parapet crack) on the first visit, fixed it in a day, three monsoons dry now.

They thermal-imaged the ceiling and showed me on the screen exactly where water was tracking — wasn't even close to the visible stain. Saved me from re-doing the whole roof.

Sheet roof replacement on a 12,000 sq.ft warehouse, done in 11 days while we kept operating. Drop in roof temperature confirmed by my logger — 9°C in May.
